Continuing news stories about Maria - July 5, 2006

Channel 3 News (WKYC) in Cleveland is running a series of pieces on Maria. The original concept was to run a single news story about her but since there was so much interest following the initial piece, they've decided to run additional ones. Here is the schedule:
  • July 5, 2006 - 11 PM original story (video is here)
  • July 6, 2006 - 7PM first follow-on story (video is here)
  • July 6, 2006 - 11PM second follow-on story (video coming soon)

That was a very nice segment devoted to Maria. I hope it brings more awareness to find a cure for DIPG, but most importantly, I hope it sends forth a flood of prayers for Maria.

It was great seeing the whole family on TV and seeing the smiles. I really miss you guys. I recorded it on TIVO and DVR per requests of friends, but also because Rachael really wanted to see Maria. She prayed for Maria at bedtime and then said she couldn't wait to wake up in the morning to see Maria on TV... "Is she a TV star now?"

Maria is a beautiful shining star!

love, Betsy

Ed and Megan,

Maria is a beautiful and courageous girl. I live very close and my daughter also has a BT (anaplastic ependymoma). Her doctor wants to start her on Tarceva asap and I was very encouraged by your story. If you are comfortable you could contact me at Debboross@yahoo.com. I would love to chat. I will pray for your family and especially for Maria. This is such a hard journey.

Ed and Megan- I saw the quick clip on Channel 3, and then the whole story on the website. Too too many of us have some form of this disease. Know that Maria is certainly in my prayers. She looks so beautiful and happy in those pictures. I remember that attitude was everything!

I received an e-mail this morning with your web-site on it. I live in Rocky River and my son was dx. with a medulloblastoma almost 6 years ago. I am in awe of your strength and for allowing others to follow your journey.

You ended up where you needed to be--St. Jude's and Dr. Gajjar.

Megan, you are right--there are just times that you have to hand things over to God--again, the hardest thing in the world to do, but I found a great sense of comfort when I was finally able to accomplish it.

You always have hope--Always HOPE...Go, Maria, go!!!!

Your family has been added to my prayers,

Sandy Barrow (m/o Sam 9, dx/ 9/00 w/medulloblastoma, and Max 12)

I have been watching WKYC about Maria and can't help but feel sad, hopeful, inspired, amazed at your family--your strength as a family and your faith is absolutely inspirational. Little Maria has so much strength for being such a little girl! Thank you so much for sharing so much of your lives with us!

Maria
Don`t worry.
If God let you went to all this suffering, is because he had a wonderful reward for you ...and healing with joy will come into your life soon and forever .
God loves you, so do I.

Hi! I saw your story and it really hit home! When I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter, my 5 year old son was diagnosed with A.L.L. Leukemia! Things have been pretty hard for everyone, but he is doing well! He is in remission, and he gets done with his treatments January 2007! I saw Maria, and you could tell she is such a brave little girl! I am so glad to hear she is doing better! I wish you all the best, and remember you're not alone! Tammy

We were so sad when we heard about Maria. We have Maria and your family in our prayers. Trust in the Lord for all your needs, and he will help you and Maria through this difficult time. Cammy loves her playmate and hopes nothing happens to her.

The power of prayer is strong, and we as Christians can do this! A friend of mine always says, if you have FAITH, then we have no worries.
