Update as of Saturday April 21, 2007

Hello Everyone,

Today is such a beautiful day. I hope everyone is outside enjoying it!

We have posted a lot less frequently in the past months. A friend of mine said, “You need to post so we can keep those prayers coming!” I am grateful to have this site to come to and post when I feel I need to talk or have something to say. It has been very healing for me to be able to do that. I don’t ever like to force the words, and I’m not one to detail each day. There is so little time in the day for us it seems. Maria has needed us greatly in the past couple months and we are trying to spend every moment we can with her and together as a family. Please understand how appreciative we are to all of you for your concern and prayers. You have all been so wonderful to us! We know how much you love Maria and we will try to post when we can. I ask that you continue to pray for Maria always- even without a post. Prayers are always needed here. Now, more than ever.

The week after Easter we all caught the rotavirus. This was hard on Maria as she could not keep anything down. Dehydration is never good with a brain tumor. We have been focusing on strengthening her and getting her better. The virus took a toll on her and increased the number of symptoms we have been seeing. It has been slow moving but she has shown signs of improvement. We are concerned for her. We do, however, remain as upbeat and joyful as possible, trying not to despair because it will bring no good and we know God wants us to put our trust in Him. Whatever happens will be God’s will and we want to work with Him, not against Him. We are hopeful. I continue to ask God for complete healing. I look to Him to show me the way. We have turned it over to Him. I know she is in the loving hands of Someone who loves her more than we could ever imagine. I always hope that He will allow her to remain with us. No one knows, but Him.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Maria always.

Love,
Ed and Megan

I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. i had the privilege of going to a Moody Bible Conference this weekend. There was a wonderful speaker named Jennifer Rothschild who spoke a very eloquent talk about fear, faith, healing, hope, and the grace of God. I would encourage you to go to www.MoodyAudio.com to download her talk from Sat the 21st. I really felt God nudging me to pass this on to you all.

We are all continuing our prayers for your entire family. Grace enjoyed listening to Ed talk at St Paul's last week and she came home asking if she could play with Maria! She also wants to collect $ for her though she doesn't fully understand why.
If we can do anything at all to help out, we are more than willing!

Megan & Edward,

Whether there is a post or not, we continue our prayers for Maria. We also pray that God will watch over all of you and help you through whatever may come your way. Please know that we, friends and family, are all here for you in whatever way you need us to be. Don't ever hesitate to ask.
Love,

I know there isn't a day that goes by that any of this gets any easier. But I continue to pray for Maria and Sophie, and all the others kids who are going through the same thing that need their miracle. As you have said so many times, only God knows the plan, yet it can never hurt to continue the prayers for healing. Maria and your family are constantly in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Sarah

I continue to pray for Maria and Sophie every single day. Although I do enjoy your updates, I think everyone understands how time-consuming it is to write them, and I don't "need" them to remember to pray for the girls. May God continue to bless you all.

Keep the Faith! There is always a plan, sometimes it doesn't always make sense, but whom are we to question! God Bless your Family in these hard times.

I don't pray for Maria only when you post. I pray for Maria every day and will continue to do so. Your time with your family is so precious. I'm sure that is your focus, and my focus will be to pray for your beautiful daughter.

Dear Megan and Ed

Our prayers are with you daily. We pray for complete healing for both Maria and Sophie and for a cure for this monster. Megan -remember what I told you that day in Shoots and Sprouts - "so many people you don't even know are praying for you." Feel that love and support. Draw on that during the rough times - YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

My 4 year old daughter Emma and I brought dinner to your family last year while you were in Memphis. You all have touched our lives and everyday we pray for and think of Maria. Emma remembers meeting Maria and giving her a beanie baby bear. She had 2 of the same and she wanted Maria to have one. She calls that bear her Maria bear. It is so amazing that you can meet someone one time and they are forever placed in your heart. You will always be in our prayers.

While updates are nice, they are not necessary for us to keep up with the prayers. If you can help Maria smile and laugh everyday then we are happy. That is what I imagine you are doing. We are praying for a miracle for your family. Now go make some happy memories for your family!

Hi Maria,
I pray for you every day in every class, when I wake up in the morning and before I go to sleep at night, and when we say the intentions @ mass that we hold in our hearts, you and your family are in our prayers. I am a freshman @ Magnificat High School and I graduated from St. Raphael's last year. I don't think that you remember me, but I helped you on the bus last year with Dana. My Mom and Grandfather are on the board for St. Jude and you are constantly in our prayers. Here is a sunflower, just for you. My cousin Leigh, who has Lou Gherig's disease, prays for you every day because she too knows the pain of suffering and the miricle of surviving. She tells me that she keeps you in her prayers as I do every day and that she hopes that you and your family will have to suffer no longer. God Bless you and your family.

Ed, Megan and kids,

We too continue the prayers on a daily basis. Everytime I look down at may Prayers for Maria bracelet or look at her picture on my wall at work or think about the great times we had on Commodore Court or I put the kids to bed, I say a prayer for Maria and all of you. We miss you all very much and wish we were there for you in person. We'll continue the prayers but let us know if you need anything else.

With love,

Hello McNamara Family;

The Union Catholic community has kept you in its prayers all year. Many of the seniors cam to me at graduation and asked about Maria. I know they will continue to pray for you as they begin their college journeys. My family thinks of you and prays for you every day.
